It's Spring Break for my kids. We are kicking back, having a STAYCATION. I love it.

Youngest son is much improved. He's not taking pain medicine and is looking forward to pizza and subs in the the not-too-distant-future. I think it may be YEARS before he has chicken broth, jello or popsicles again. LOL

Oldest son is thrilled to have NO HOMEWORK, and to be able to play lacrosse with his friends every day.

DH and I like the late mornings, even though he has to work, we're not getting up at 6 to get the kids off to school. Sleeping in until 8 is wonderful.

My shingles are almost gone--yea!

I'm looking for a good book to read. I want to sit out in the sun, in the garden with my shelties, and read.

I've started and stopped 7 books. I've tried fiction (mystery, thriller, historical fiction, SF and romance) and nonfiction (history, biography) but nothing seems to strike me.

Are you reading anything good? What suggestions do you have for me to read during our Spring Break?

Glad your shingles are better, Fiona. My mother had shingles --and said that they were very painful...

Glad also that your son is doing well.

Sounds like you and your family are going to have a really nice week... That's the best vacation I can think of!!!!! REST and RELAXATION.

Get a good, juicy fiction romance and just enjoy....

I recently read "The Help" which I really enjoyed. Also read "Leila, the Weighted Hours of Silence" which was good. Have you read "Snowflower and the Secret Fan" - an older book now but a great read! "The Glass Castle" - another page-turner!

Thanks, Coralie. I haven't read Leila..., or THE GLASS CASTLE.

I L-O-V-E-D "The Help" and have suggested it to my book club.
